Love in the Stacks

I am very honored to know so many fantastic artists and creators in my close social network. From musicians and photographers to painters and bakers, my circle is absolutely plump with beautiful imagination.

Today, HEA (Happy Ever After) published an interview with my very good friend, Sean Gilmartin– an aspiring novelist and winner of the Romance Writers of America Librarian of the Year Award.

Check it out for a little inspiration regarding romance as a genre and where it fits in our libraries. Rest assured when he finally has been published, you’ll be hearing all about it from me. For now I must simply give him the most amazing commendations. I had the privilege of working with this man in his element, collaborating on teen and tween activities, participating in the programming he created, listening to children and adults alike sing his praises, and I have never met anyone so deserving of an award for outstanding service.

Keep your eye on this one: I swear you’ll be glad you did.

I’m Not Being Sassy When I Say “Sasser Rocks”

Michael Sasser is one of the most talented photographers in Denver and, dare I say, Colorado on the whole. Hell, let’s just go for “the whole world”, though my dear readers may feel I’m exaggerating at that point.

Really, though, the proof is in the pudding. As I’m on a more professional course these days, presenting myself in a professional way has become an incredible priority– MacBook selfies can only get me taken seriously to a certain degree. But for those of you here on WordPress, or for anyone following me on Twitter or connected to me on LinkedIn, you’ll notice my profile picture has a new kind of flair to it.

It was part of a set done by Mr. Sasser in the Capitol Hill/Cheesman Park area of Denver, and it has now served more of a purpose than I could have ever imagined when I was asked to work as a test-model of sorts to allow Mike to warm up for the senior photo season just before the beginning of summer.

If you think it’s as lovely as I do, please do me a favor and vote for this brilliant artist in Denver A-List’s poll for Best Wedding Photographer or Best Wedding Videographer. If you need anymore proof of this man’s skill, simply visit his website, which I’ve also listed on just about every “About Me” section of my freelancing sites and social networking hubs.

And if you’re in the market for an amazing photographer, I would vouch for Michael Sasser to the ends of the earth. I feel so privileged to have been a model for him, and so thankful to now have truly professional photos of myself to present a more sophisticated look as I embark on my own endeavors of skill and craft. Don’t skimp on your special occasion– capture your memories with the help of a truly passionate photographer.

Classical Guitar, Classically Handsome

For those of you in the Denver metro area, consider this for keeping your fingers busy over summer:

Classical guitar lessons.

I mean, who doesn’t want to play guitar? But you don’t have to be the guy playing the same Third Eye Blind songĀ on repeat at the party (you know which one I’m talking about) because you only know three chords– you can WOW yourself and your friends by taking on the kind of lessons that will put you well above the rest.

All right, so this is a promo for my boyfriend: Calum Borthwick. He just graduated from the University of Denver as a Master of Music. Yes, that’s right. He’s a Master of Music. And he is now taking new students for the summer. Seriously, dive in while you can. You won’t find a more talented or patient man to instruct you through the ins and outs of guitar.

While you’re checking out his site, read his bio. Can you guess it’s written by me?

Well, if you’re a musician who’s stumbled upon this blog by trolling through the “music” tags, but you’re digging this style and need someone to write a lovely blurb about you and what you can offer your community, please let me know. Leave a comment here or find me on Twitter @srmeisinger, and we’ll correspond. I’ve got a base rate of $5 right now, so get while the gettin’s good.

And for my fellow bloggers, do us a favor and reblog! I’m always happy to repay the favor.
